Roll Models!

I remember when I was in school we had to right a report on our roll model(s), so I choose to right about my parents!  Back then my parents were still married and I was proud of the fact that they had adhered to the vows they had taken 25 years prior.  The sad thing was most of the other kids in my class chose movie stars and singers ect. as their roll models.

Now I don’t know if it was just the whole Hollywood thing with new ways of gaining the interest of the youth, through things like MTV, or if it had more to do with the fact that may of the kids in my class had broken families. What ever the case was I think it would be even harder to write about a persons roll model they are just so few and far between.

For example the year after I graduated my parents after 29 years of marriage decided they had had enough of this marriage and divorced. I along with my siblings were devastated. Apparently my parents only stayed together the last 10 years because they were waiting for all of us to leave home. And even now 15 years after their divorce neither is happier or better off.

But to make matters even worse not only is it hard to find good roll models at home but also in Hollywood. For example the newest let down I have seen is with teen sensation Hanna Montana! Now I have to say at least she apologized for he lapse in judgment. But in general many of the new stars of this currant generation are making headlines because of their poor choices not because of their acting or sing careers.

Lets’ hope that not only has the young teen sensation really learned from her mistake but that many others both in Hollywood and our own towns learn to make better and wiser choices. We sure could use a few more good men, women and teens as roll models!

What You Can Buy With Your Minimum Wage

I know you’ve seen it and heard it all over the news the raising prices of gas and food. How can we afford to go to work with these outrageous gas prices the other option to stay home so we can afford food is not a very good choice either? In some states like Montana where the minimum wage is just over $6.00 every hour you work will barley be able to pay for a loaf of bread, a gallon or milk or a gallon of gas. How can we live this way?

I predict that many of us will see by the end of this year.
$6.00 per gallon gas
$6.00 per gallon milk
$5.00 per loaf of bread
$6.00 per pound of hamburger

The reason I mention these things is because we need to try and prepare ourselves for the currant recession we are in and the inevitable depression we are headed for. Get your life in order and prepare for the worst.

Drinking Water

We all know what they are saying about our planet, how the ozone is depleting, and oceans are getting toxic and the water and air we breathe is slowly becoming dangerous for us to consume.  Well I don’t know about you but I get tired of hearing all this some days I just want to know that all is well with the world. But unfortunately this I am afraid might never happen.

My problem is every time I turn on my water a nasty smell arises from the faucet makes me not want to consume it. The water people (I don’t honestly know there names) have been out to test it several times but came to the same conclusion, it is not unhealthy to drink just stinky from all the minerals.  They also told me to check out some companies who sell clean drinking water but also they told me that the soft water and or the water filters will help with the smells and tastes.

So here is my dilemma which water company is the best?  I have done the initial investigating but want some input for others who actually use one of the following companies.http://www.raynewater.com/

Aging Info

Recently I was checking out a few blogs that talk about aging.  Here is one I found that was really good! http://www.fixaging.com/ I really liked the articles about What will you look like when you are older? as well as Ending aging won’t lead to overpopulation. With the recent burst in retirees “Baby Boomers”, several of them being my parents and in-laws, the population is spending more time on retirement plans, health insurance and finding ways to live a better healthier life. I recently learned of a few great ways to help a person do this. One is products and two is services that are readily offered today.

For example I found Compression Stockings from a company called http://www.contourmd.com for my dad who suffers from poor circulation, and I have also learned that my mother-in-law uses clogs that she found on a medical site called http://www.scrubcenter.com where even the doctors and nurses go to get shoes that offer great comfort and support, and in my mother-in-laws words they really are good for her “old dogs”. Then two years ago my mom went through a mastectomy she then decided to have follow up breast reconstruction to help her look and fell better about her self and is now considering a tummy tuck from the same company who helped her with her breast enhancement http://www.ebreastaug.com/.

Another way of growing older is taking on a new career. Here is one company you can do that with ans know that you are helping other live a heathier life. http://www.chac.edu. CHAC will prepare you for a rewarding career in massage therapy.

Now I know that there are many other areas that people focus on to achieve a healthier life but I only mention these because I have seen personally how important it is to find great products and services to help the “Baby Boomers” prepare and enjoy their retirement years.

Family Comes First!

How many times have you seen a couple who are two complete entities rather than a couple! I was taught when you marry two become one. So why is it that in many marriages each person has their own set of friends and seem to always be doing their own thing?

Coming from a marriage where all and I mean all things are shared it is hard for me to comprehend. In my house I do the majority of the cleaning each week and my husband then does the cooking, if I need help he helps me and I in turn help him.

When it comes to the children we are very cautious to make sure we do not overturn the other ones decisions and if we disagree with each other we try to discuss it out side of hearing range of the kids. We are not always successful nor do we have a perfect marriage but we decided when we got married that family comes first that is right after GOD!

This strategy has worked very good for us over the years. In fact my husband and I are both co-owners of a very successful business in our home that has allowed us much time together and with our wonderful children.

Both my husband and I come from parents who divorced. He at a very young age and me well I was in my twenties, but neither scenario was easy for us. We decided like many couples that we were not going to carry on the tradition or trend of divorce in our family. “The Buck Stops Here”, so to speak. We are now happily married now for over 15 years and can only see life getting better from here on out.

How ever that was not the case for my mother-in-law who married a second time soon after her first divorce and after 18 years of marriage to her second husband found her self yet again in the middle of another unfortunate divorce.  The blessing this time around is that there were no young children involved.

This made her divorce proceedings much simpler and less costly, and after only a few months and an amicable parting of ways she is now on the road to a new life.  Thanks to the great staff at Savaggio, Garibian, LLC. She is able to now move closer to us and spend as much time as possible making up of all the years she lost as a mother and now as a grand mother. We are happy she is coming I look forward to getting to know my “Mother”! As she puts it “It’s time to put my family first!”
